Pinot noir is a black wine grape variety. The name may also refer to wines created predominantly from Pinot noir grapes. The name is derived from the French words for "pine" and "black" alluding to the grape variety's tightly clustered dark purple pine cone-shaped bunches of fruit.
Pinot noir grapes are grown around the world, mostly in the cooler regions, but the grape is chiefly associated with the Burgundy region of France.
In Australia the cooler climate of Tasmania favours this variety, though areas around Melbourne including: Mornington Peninsula, Macedon ranges and the Yarra Valley are producing quality, elegant wines.
In the broadest terms, the wine tends to be of light to medium body with an aroma reminiscent of black and / or red cherry, raspberry and to a lesser extent currant and many other fine small red and black berry fruits

Pinot Noir Wines
Our Pinot vines are now on average 12 years old, and are developing greater depth of fruit complexity and tannin structure as they age. Wines that combine grace and generosity when they are made with restraint and respect.
Pinot Noir Wines
This Pemberton wine has been minimally filtered to preserve the natural intensity and structure of the wine. Wild fruits, lifted cherry, blackberry, leather and black olive dominate the palate with some spice and French oak complexities. The palate is intense with dark chocolate, seamless oak and ripe full tannins balancing the fruit.
